Karnataka Political Blunder

Karnataka Political Crisis - The Blunder of Karnataka Government

The blunder of the Karnataka government has continued and seems like taking no rest since the day it has formed and today it has reached to the level where it is lying on the edge of destruction.

Resigned Members from the Congress & JDS

It might seem like going to fall within a couple of weeks and the blunder will not stop until the present coalition government gets vanished.

It all started happening the day itself when the coalition formed and the local party-JDS chief, HD Kumaraswamy got an exciting offer to become a chief minister of Karnataka and form a government with hands joined by the Congress Party despite having the conflict with the JDS Party, Congress gave them the full support just to keep away the BJP out of the rule. It happened successfully they merged together to form a coalition government.

The total seats in the Karnataka legislative assembly are 224, but the current members are 221, which is respectively BJP(105), INC(79), JDS(37). The Magic number required to form Government is 113.

Resigned Candidates

8 Members from the Congress Party and 3 Members from the JDS Party. Total 11 Members from the coalition Government, Which is hard to further continue the Government.

The equation has come to 116-11=105 which is as same as the BJP seats, Now no party has the number to form the government.

Hence, the option to be in government is to have that 113 Members of the one-sided party or with the help of the coalition from the other party, which seems hardly impossible for any of the party. Election is Onn.

What is Next for Coalition?
  1. Hold the members who were resigning.
  2. Convince them not to leave the party.
  3. Request them not to fall in the trap of BJP.
or Government falls in no time without any other means.

If the members resign then what happens? Will election comes again?

Yes. Most probably election is the key for the stable government, as of now there is no party who has the majority to form the government hence the resigned members will have to contest again from their region and whoever wins the by-poll election can have the opportunity to showcase the majority and also to form the government if the number hits to the magic figure required to form the government.
